What is Hard Reset?
A hard reset (also called a factory reset) is a process that erases all data on your device and restores it to its original factory settings, just like when it was brand new.
What Does a Hard Reset Do?

Difference Between Hard Reset & Soft Reset
- Soft Reset (Restart): Just reboots the phone (no data loss).
- Hard Reset (Factory Reset): Wipes everything (full data loss).
- First Connect Usb cable into phone. Not Charger Must Connect Usb Cable.
- Keep holding volume Down & Power key until the screen turns off
- This means the phone is off. Quickly release both key
- When Phone is off, quickly press and hold the power button and the volume up button at the same time before phone turn on
- While phone turn on release power key keep holding volume up key
- After while phone will enter into recovery mode
- Use Volume Down to highlight Wipe data/factory reset.
- Press the Power button to confirm.
- Confirm Reset
- Select Factory data reset > Delete all user data.
- Reboot
- After reset, select Reboot system now.

3. Agree to Terms & Conditions
- Read and accept Samsung’s Terms, Privacy Policy, and Google Terms.
4. Sign in to Your Google Account (Optional but Recommended)
- Enter your Google account (Gmail) and password.
- (Required if you had Factory Reset Protection (FRP) enabled before resetting.)
- Follow on-screen steps for Google services(Backup, Play Store, etc.).
5. Sign in to Samsung Account (Optional)
- If you have a Samsung account, sign in to restore backups and access Samsung services.
6. Set Up Device Protection
- Choose a screen lock method (PIN, Pattern, Password, or Fingerprint).
- You can also set up Face Recognition if supported.
7. Restore Data (If Available)
- If you had a backup, choose Restore from backup (Google or Samsung Cloud).
- Otherwise, select Don’t restore to set up as a new device.
8. Customize Settings
- Google Services: Enable/disable options like Backup, Location, and Device Scanning.
- Samsung Services: Choose preferences for Samsung apps and diagnostics.
9. Install Apps & Updates
- The phone may automatically install previously used apps (if restored from backup).
- Go to Settings > Software update to check for the latest system updates.
10. Complete Setup
- Tap Finish and start using your freshly reset phone!
